It consists in the alternation of periods achieving very peak power (60-80% higher than normal), followed by equivalent periods of inaction. This type of operating system has two purposes:

• to supply ultrasonic power, much higher than normal, even though it may be for very short lapses of time

• to ensure an equivalent period of absolute rest in order to prevent the formation of stationary waves

Pulse mode is only convenient in rare circumstances, when hammered effectis preferred to continuous and uniform cleaning. This happens when the material that needs to be removed is integral to object's surface, for example oxidation, chalk deposits, epoxy glazed paints, inflorescences or organic gemmations.

Pulse mode can be started in 3 ways:

1) By the front panel, by pushing the PULSE MODE button and the UP & DOWN button to decide the duration

2) By remote control, from PLC on a dedicated contact

3) By the host computer, with command on the RS232 port

In order to avoid damaging the PZT elements, the generator is equipped with a special setting device that imposes an interval between a pulse mode session and the next, which lasts the same time as the previous session.
