Turbochargers can presents in any condition, from good to very bad (if disassembled after long time, if not periodically cleaned or if they are very old). From that initial condition it will depend the immersion time in the ultrasonic cleaning bath, which can variate from a minimum of 1 hour up to 5 or 6 hours.

The ultrasonic action dissolve and crush the biggest amount of the dirty on the surface and inside the holes.As shown in the photo, the left part was cleaned. The cleaning result is evident but a hint of dirty and detergent is still present on the surface.

 

That's why after the ultrasonic ation, is needed a polishing action, to have an outstanding result.
