Particles dimension:

Laboratory tests carried out throughout the years, as well as all specialized literature, clearly established that the dimensions of dirt particles are crucial to determine which ultrasonic frequency is best-suited for their removal:

  • Higher frequencies act more effectively against small particles

  • Medium_low frequencies act more effectively on bigger particles

Our MOG generators offer double functionality, because they work either in sweep-mode or in multi-frequency

In the last few years multifrequency generators have become increasingly successful on the market: they work with high speed programmable logic (32 bit) of recent production, therefore can shift from one frequency to the next in nanoseconds, i.e., virtually simultaneously .

In conclusion, the advantages of multi-frequency generators are the following:

  • they remove particles of any size

  • they reduce erosion on tanks or immersible transducers

  • maximum cleaning power due to the elimination of stationary waves

  • immediately degassing into cleaning liquid (see "degassing")

Erosion:

Wavelenght (which is inverse to frequency) causes throughes and nodes, of lower or higher cavitation intensity. If nodes occupy the same position for a long strrtch of time, they can erode the the objet that needs to be cleaned and, more importantly, the tank itself. As a consequence it is essential to constantly change the working frequency, so that nodes are moved around the whole tank, and are eventually eliminated by the turbulence created by such movement. As a side benefit, the object's surface is uniformly cleaned.

Stationary waves:

When energy waves are introduced into a liquid, as a reaction the liquid tends to follow the energy's movement, thus mitigating the energy's impact and generating stationary waves that considerably reduce the initial energy. In order to prevent the formation of stationary waves, the energy-wave frequency must not be constant, rather it must undergo continuous variations, even if infitesimal. Two common techniques are used to this aim:

The frequency variation "cycle_by_cycle" (sweeping)
